Seasons

Mother Nature has four seasons, unless you live in South Louisiana then you may experience four seasons in one day. The joke here is to give the weather 15 minutes, it will change. Do you ever wonder if people were put in your life for a season or for a lifetime?

How many of you have heard of the character Madea? I remember watching the plays on VHS at a friend’s house when I was in high school. Remember, I’m not old, things just progress fast! haha! There was a part of a play in particular that has stuck with me for years. You can check out the clip here, Madea’s Tree Friendship Words of Wisdom

She goes on to explain that if people are willing to walk out of your life, let them go. How many times do we beg for someone to stay? How many times do we sacrifice ourselves and go to the extremes to change who we are in order to make someone else happy? Have you promised certain things in order to keep that person in your life? Raise your hand if you’re with me. I can’t be the only one.

Madea also points out that some people are put into our lives for a season and we try and keep them for a lifetime. We ignore the red flags and all of the signs. Sometimes they are flashing neon lights and we put our shades on and say a prayer for change yet, your sign was provided to you and you ignored it. How many times do we go to God about something and he answers us in a way that we don’t like so we pray again? It may be a friendship or relationship. We have to learn that it’s okay to let that person walk out of the door. It is their choice.

We should never have to beg to be a part of someone’s life. If you have to sacrifice your happiness to keep the other person happy, it’s time to cut the cord. It’s time for you to be happy. It’s okay not to settle for less than you deserve!
