    No Way

I want to start this post with a personal question, Have you ever gone through a divorce?  If your answer is “yes”, you’re not alone. So many have had to walk the muddy, messy road of divorce. As you may know, I’m a Christian and I don’t mean the one that just goes to church on Sundays to make my conscience feel good. I’m not the Christian who goes home and has a glass of wine because “Jesus drank wine” but I won’t give you the truth on that today.  Maybe I’ll write a post about that on a different day.  I’m not the Christian that doesn’t want to…

    Do You Believe

I may lose some followers after this post and that’s okay. I’m not here to make friends. I’m here to tell you the truth. Not my truth. God’s truth. I’ve recently seen comments stating that we are our own gods. That we accomplish things within ourselves. I disagree whole-heartedly. I can’t fathom where I’d be if I didn’t believe in God and how He rescued me from one of the darkest times of my life. Had I done it within my own self, I’d be in prison or dead today. That’s a fact. I look back on where I was 10 years ago. Wow…that just hit me like…

    I Love You

I love you. Three words. Three words that are supposed to mean something special. Three words that we long to hear someone tell us. Three words that make us feel safe. Three words that make us feel secure. Three words that can also be lies. So often these words are used for self gain. In today’s society, these words are thrown around like candy in a parade. The value of them has dwindled down to almost no value at all. “I love you” is stated  to gain sex, trust, physical objects, and probably other things that I’m not thinking of at the moment, because my heart is so heavy. In…

    Pregnancy and Depression

Do you struggle with Depression?  Pregnancy changes hormones which can alter the way that your brain functions. According to americanpregnancy.org, 14-23% of women will struggle with some symptoms of depression during pregnancy. If you’ve read previous post, you know that I have struggled with anxiety as a result of an abusive marriage and then a less than healthy relationship following that marriage. Depression though, I hadn’t really dealt with. Some of the symptoms of depression are: persistent sadness, loss of interest in activities that you usually enjoy, recurring thoughts of death, suicide, or hopelessness, or feelings of guilt or worthlessness. I didn’t understand what was happening within my mind. One day,…

    Christianity Today

I may get quite a bit of negative feedback from this and that’s okay, I’m prepared. Let’s talk about what Christianity is today versus what is was meant to be. What does being a Christian mean? Well, we need to first define the word, Christian. A Christian is someone who follows the teachings of Jesus Christ (defined by Google). Now that we know the meaning, let’s dive in. When you follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, your goal is to strive to be like Christ as he was when he walked on this earth. Jesus was perfect in all things. We, are not perfect and we will never be…

    Cravings

What do you crave? Is it sugar? It is junk food? It is tacos? Haha! I like tacos too! Is it sex? Is it attention? Is it peace? What is it? If you know me personally, you know my favorite food group is anything sweet with lots of sugar. I know…unhealthy. Because of that, I have to watch the amount of it that I intake  and with a family history of diabetes, I try not to take in much as I get older. And besides that, it’s harder to lose weight as we get older. On the physical side of cravings, I once craved attention from men. I’m not…

    Kindness

How many times have people assumed that because you’re kind that you will do whatever is asked of you? How many times did you want to say no to something but didn’t because you are kind and kind people aren’t supposed to say no? Better yet, that if you’re a Christian, you aren’t supposed to say no. Wait…what???? Friend, listen to me very carefully…STOP IT! If a task is asked of you and you feel like you can not take it on, SAY NO! This doesn’t make you an unkind person or any less Christian. It makes you aware of what you’re able to do and what you’re unable…

    Expectations and Disappointments

Experiencing disappointment on some level in life is inevitable. Let’s not try and make believe that its not and that it doesn’t suck. It sucks! I know we’re not supposed to have expectations of others because it will more than likely lead to disappointment. Yet, we do it and sometimes we do it to those closest to us. Here’s the thing. Did you talk to the person about the issue at hand or did you just assume they understood and  they just didn’t care? Did you rehearse a conversation in your head of how it would go? Did it go the complete opposite? Now what? You’re sitting alone and…

    Sex

Sex is viewed in a variety of ways. For some the experience is a negative one. One of abuse, rape or being trafficked. For some, the experience is a positive one. One in which it is/was consensual at all times. For others, its a way of life. Now, what I’m about to write is going to be raw and honest. I’m not going to sugar coat this subject and it will not be easy for me to write it and it may not be easy for you to read. It took me a long time to come to the point in my life and admit that I, myself…had used…

    Pandemic

Did you know there’s a pandemic occurring right now because of COVID-19? Of course, you do. Everyone is aware. My question is, how are you handling it? Are you one of those people who panicked and went and selfishly purchased more than you really needed and left a shortage for others who are needing items such as, toilet paper, paper towels, disinfectant wipes, eggs, bread, rice, water, etc.? Below are a couple of scriptures regarding Greed and Selfishness: Proverbs 15:27– The greedy bring ruin to their households, but the one who hates bribes will live. Proverbs 28: 25-28– A greedy man stirs up strife, but the one who trusts in the…
