Soul Ties

Let’s talk about soul ties, what it means, and how to sever them.

What is a soul tie? A soul tie is a spiritual connection that you have with another person that typically forms after sexual intimacy. What does this mean exactly? It means that your soul is connected to theirs and can remain that way until it is severed…completely.

It’s not typically formed for those of one night stands but of those who have a past relationship of some sort that the other person was a big influence in. This could be married or unmarried.

Some signs of having soul ties with someone are: obsessing about them in your thoughts, dreaming about them, and/or replaying words that they’ve said to you. Its also when the person pops up in your thoughts randomly while maybe doing something that y’all did together or a particular subject that was talked about. Having a soul tie with someone from your past can affect your current and future relationship.

Soul ties aren’t always unhealthy ones. Sometimes, it’s all good memories and it still exist because it hasn’t been officially severed. Those that are unhealthy will take a little longer to sever because you will have to add forgiveness into the process in order to completely move on from it. This could be forgiving them or even yourself.

How do we sever those ties? First, you have to admit that there is a soul tie between the two of you. Second, you have to take action. You can’t just sit there and think it’ll resolve itself because…has it? Nope. Third, you have to cut off all contact, if you’re still in contact. Remove all objects given by that person or objects that were purchased together, and pray that God remove that tie with that person and set each of you free.

For the unmarried:

“Father God, I come to you in Jesus’ name and I ask that you forgive me for having a sexual relationship outside of marriage with _____. I ask that you sever the soul tie that binds our souls together and I ask that your will be done on earth and it is in Heaven. Amen”

For ex-spouses:

“Father God, I come to you in Jesus’ name and I ask that you sever the soul tie that binds  _____ and I as we are no longer one in unity. I ask that your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Amen.”
