Hand In Hand

This is a follow up from the last post, God’s Plan.

The initial reaction when sitting down with Brodie and explaining what God had dealt with me about, living in sin, was not a good one. Because of the hurt that was done to Brodie in the past by his ex-wfie, he heard “leaving” and shut down immediately and was unable to hear or process the rest of what was being said. He also felt like there may be a chance of my using God as an excuse to end our relationship to be with someone else. This was not the case at all.

Brodie felt that he was done, we were done, and I felt that in my heart that our relationship was not done. He claimed to have been single for a couple of day because to him, he was. For me, I was still in a relationship and I told him that.  I knew that I obeyed God by standing up for what was right for us and our future and God was going to reward that and change Brodie’s heart. And guess what, He did!

Brodie and I were able to sit down and talk about it and he really listened this time. It has not been an easy process. No one lives apart and without sex until marriage in this day and age. It’s just unheard of and its unheard of because it’s so very much accepted by society. In today’s world it’s okay to do what we want. It’s okay to take the parts of the Bible that fits us and what we desire but the rest gets tossed out of the window and this should not be.

If you accept Christ in your life, you accept ALL of what comes with being a Christian. A true Christian and not just a title. It’s a lifestyle and that lifestyle requires living like Christ did, not still like you want to. It requires change within ourselves and some of the things we do. It also requires us to forgive those who we feel have wronged us. It requires us to love our neighbor. It requires us to not judge another person…about anything!

Brodie and I are in agreement with laying down the best foundation possible for ourselves, the kids, and our future. We want to be examples to people who feel it’s impossible to do things the right way. God’s way.

Nothing is impossible with God!
